WHAT'S HAPPENING?

It has been busy here. Jeremy is staying busy with his (not so) new job. His hours are a bit longer, but hopefully these hours will pay off! Jen is busy with work. A few weekends ago, she took her first weekend trip without Addison. Unfortunately, it was not a fun trip, it was for Special Olympics Basketball Tournament. Addison was thoroughly missed! The hugs and kisses made up for it! Addison, well she is just BUSY. Busy playing, running, and exploring. That child is never still!

We had a great Easter. Jen cooked a ham (for the first time ever!). It was really good. This might have something to do with the fact that it was precooked when she bought it and all she had to do was heat it in the oven! We also had green bean casserole, rolls, spinach salad, & deviled eggs. Our friends Danelle, Josh, and Jaydn joined us, along with Grammy and Granddaddy. We attempted an egg hunt for the kids, but they decided that the slide would be more fun. Plus they had "been there done that" when it comes to the egg hunt thing. There was an egg hunt at their school.

Some updates on the Tabery family...

Addison is doing well. She has moved up to the Young Ones class and is learning new things daily. Some of her latest tricks include learning songs and the hand motions that go with them (Itsy-Bisty Spider, Twinkle Twinkle, Old Mac Donald), learning new signs (so far she knows "more", "eat", "finished", "please", and "milk"-notice that they are all related to eating!), and climbing (on tables, chairs, couches, etc). At her latest check up she weighed 25 pounds 6 ounces and was 30 1/2 inches tall. Addison continues to be a good eater. She is a fan of Buffalo Chicken Fingers- medium please! Anything with spice to it is good in her book!

Jeremy has settled into his new job with Bandwidth.com. They sell networking "stuff" small to medium companies. Jen is staying busy with work. Basically all the excitement in our lives come from Addison. We have settled into a boring little routine and wouldn't change it for the world! With Addison, our lives are anything but routine!

Her other new tricks include: walking, running, climbing, talking (there is a new word each day!). Addison is graduating from the baby classroom this Friday. She will move into the Young One's class on February 4th. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that she is becoming a bad influence on the younger kids in her class. Basically she "places" them where she wants them. If they crawl away from her before she is finished with them, she pulls them back into place.

YAY! More toys! Jake (our friend Matt's son), Lukas, and Alex. They partied like rock stars!

Getting some sage advice from Shannon. " What do you mean that I cannot touch the flame?" YUMMY! I NEED MILK! The party was great fun! Our house has never been that full! Addison received many cool gifts. She is a very lucky girl. Savannah even stayed downstairs and joined in the festivities.

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY...

One year ago today our lives changed. They changed in a manner that cannot be described. Here is the story of Addison's' birth. it is a LONG one! My due date was 12/27. The ENTIRE month of December I really showed no progress towards dilating. I had a dr appt on 12/28 with my least fave doc in the practice. He said "You have made no progress towards dilating. I am afraid that you are gonna be in the same point next week with an aged placenta. Let's talk induction". I was all over that since I was DONE being preggo. The doc did not think Addison was too large, maybe on the larger size of normal since Jeremy was over 10 pounds and I was 4 weeks early and weighed 8 lbs, 9 oz. I was scheduled for induction on 12/29.Arrive at the hospital at 7 am. get set up, start pitocin at 8am. A bit later the doc decides she wants to put a catheter in my cervix to help me dilate. I agree. Oh. My. God! Ouch! I thought I would die. The part that hangs out had to be taped to my leg for tension and then repositioned every hour. That was miserable. After 2 hours, I was pulling on the damn thing to try and help it along! It finally came out around lunchtime.I basically spent all afternoon with contractions that were not too bad. They were going slow on the pitocin bc I told them my sister responded to it so well they had to turn it off.At 8:00 pm I was only to a 4 cm after 12 hours of pitocin. The doctor decided to break my water. That was gross! I asked for the epi at this point since that is when I heard contractions got really bad. Loved the epi, but who didn't!Slept for a while and then the doc came to check me. I was at 5 cm. He told me I had an hour to make some progress or c/s. I had a real conversation with my cervix and was WILLING it to open. An hour later, 5.5 cm. I was given another hour and made it to a 6 cm. At this point he gave 30 minutes for more progress. No progress. C/S it was. I was upset. Whenever he would say c/s, I would shake. At 2:15 am on 12/30/06 Addison Caroline Tabery was born at 9 pounds 8 ounces and 21 inches long. She had a full head of hair and was beautiful!I asked the doctor if I could have had her if I had gone into labor on my own. He said nope. She had turned slightly towards my hip and God apparently did not build me for birthing 9 1/2 pound babes! It took me forever to be able to move my legs in recovery- like 2 hours! I finally got to go see my baby. She nursed like a champ!
